Wallpaper is the New Black

I just finished watching The Queen’s Gambit on Netflix this past week and one thing really caught my eye…the wallpaper! It was everywhere and definitely over the top. Every wall was covered in mesmerizing patterns and color. In fact, I even commented to my husband how much I enjoyed looking at the wallpaper. The show is great, by the way, but worth watching just for the wallpaper alone! So, in the spirit of wallpaper, I thought I would take a trip down memory lane and revisit my wallpaper projects.

Last week, I wrote about my neighbor’s antique grocery cabinet. This paper from Anthropologie was just the thing to bring new life to that piece. You can read more about this project by clicking here.

I also used it in my own kitchen cabinets. I wrote about this makeover last spring. I’m so glad I took the time to add this fun element to my own place. You can read more about this project by clicking here.

One of the very best decisions I’ve made this past year was to wallpaper in my studio. This super fun paper by Kim Parker from Clarke & Clarke has brightened up my work day. I’ve had a ball photographing my chairs in front of this wall. You can read more about this one by clicking here.

This summer I tackled my laundry room and made it a bright and happy place to get the job done! My dogs seems to love it too. I chose a paper covered in orange fruit with hints of pink and green from Spoonflower. It was just the thing to add some personality to the space. You can read more about this one by clicking here.

One of the first projects I tackled last year was my stairwell. Wallpapering my risers was by far was the easiest project I’ve done. And the personality factor it added was so great. You can read more about this one by clicking here.

And finally, here’s my plans for my camper. Wallpaper is definitely in the works for this one both on the walls and inside the cabinets. This one is by far the hardest that I’ve tackled but I know it will be worth it in the end. You can read more about my camper design plans by clicking here.

Here’s my advice on wallpaper…if you are on the fence about wallpaper, just go for it. I can tell you the amount of joy I get from these places in and around my home is immense. It’s been so worth doing these projects and benefiting from the results. Wallpaper is the new Black!
