The Frida Sisters
I believe in trying to make dreams come true…especially if they are small ones because they are easier to work toward, right? And this set of chairs is something I’ve been dreaming up for a while now.
Almost two years ago at Christmas, my oldest daughter painted a Frida portrait for me. She’s an industrial engineering student at Texas Tech right now, but I know she’s destined for an unusual career given her broad range of talents and creativity. I loved the painting so much that she painted a few others…six total…most of which hang on the walls in my home.
My dream was to combine her paintings with my chairs. We found a place online where we could send pictures of these paintings and have them printed on fabric. The key was getting the pictures all the same size and large enough for the chairs. Once that was done, I had to decide if the painting would be on the backside or frontside of the chairs. I chose the backside and decided on jewel tone velvets for the front.
And given that look, gold paint was a must!
These were so much fun to create. And, we had fun doing some unusual photoshoots with them, too!
These are perfect for desk chairs, or even a super unique dining set…if you are Frida crazy enough!
These limited edition chairs are available for purchase on my website in my Boho Chic collection, but only for two months from now to December 31!
And if you want to get an up-close view of these chairs, come on by my house this Thursday, November 1 for a fun cocktail party. There’s going to be some amazing treats, drinks, and people there. I would love to meet you!
