Chair Love
My latest chair design arrived at my friend Sara’s home…you know, the one from Simply Southern Cottage? Our friendship goes back years, working together in our previous careers with her as a sales rep and me as a consultant. That’s where we first became friends and I designed and delivered her first chairs several years ago when she moved into her cottage…in fact, it was her first night in her cottage that I arrived with that first set.
But just like everyone, our tastes evolve and we want a new look every now and then. Her main request was to use a fabric that was colorful but that could be styled with all the seasons…spring, summer, fall, and winter. This led us to Schumacher’s Lansdale Bouquet.
The print on the fabric is large and would allow us to style each chair a little different. I found the perfect set of 6 chairs and painted them in a creamy off-white.
The fabric was exactly what we needed…it had pink for spring/summer, orange for fall, and red/green for the holidays. No matter how Sara decorates and styles her cottage, the chairs will work!
To keep them light, we went with a linen fabric in blush, orange, and brick to draw out the colors in the floral fabric.
Each chair showcases a different part of the floral…making each one unique and a burst of color.
By moving the design around on the chairs, even just a little bit, I was able to get a unique look.
And I just love the look of these chairs in her space. Simply gorgeous!
I can’t wait to see how Sara styles her home this spring and summer, and then, in the fall with her orange pumpkins and afterwards with her Christmas decor. Just wait and see…it’s going to be chair love at first sight!
