10 Best Statement-Making Fabrics for Your Projects

I’ve been working on a special project for you for the past two months.

I know how hard it can be to find great fabrics at good prices, especially ones that ship worldwide—for all my friends who don’t live in the U.S. So, Spoonflower seems to be the natural fit.

By the way, this is not a sponsored post. It’s just me trying to solve a problem that many of you are having.

The other problem is that Spoonflower is a huge hub of fabrics, and so that creates another issue: finding the right ones—ones with the right scale and colors and prints that make statements.

I searched high and low to find 10 amazing fabrics. And then I went the extra mile putting them on chairs so that you could see the impact of what these look like. Here’s my results…

You may remember I did write a blog post for Spoonflower back in February. For that post, I transformed this cute little settee. I had very limited space to showcase the fun floral, so I took the fabric and turned it sideways to make it work on the top.

Here’s another great example of turning the floral to make it work for me. I matched it to a fun stripe to add in some whimsy.

This fabric is just a panel, so I had no choice on fabric placement. It’s perfect the way it was designed. I paired it with a green stripe and added the welt cord on the bias to give it an extra punch.

Sometimes you just need a solid seat, so I chose a navy to partner with this pink peony floral.

I could have shown two different florals for this chair, but I loved this one so much I just positioned it two different ways.

Here’s another example of a floral, but it’s smaller paired with a check seat.

This large floral below needed a print to compete with, so I chose this red buffalo check fabric. The floral had several great choices for fabric placement, but I couldn’t resist what I did on the backside.

At times I love just going all in with florals and using them all over the chairs. Here’s one example…

And here’s another example…

I also wanted to experiment with a large graphic print, and this one caught my eye. Isn’t this such a great pairing for a classic French chair?

Here they are all together. Aren’t they spectacular? You could even use them all together in a space if you wanted to!
