Textiles That Brighten a Home

Just a few months ago, I received a custom order. Many of you know that I use both antique/vintage chairs and my new line of antique-inspired chairs in my designs. We started with this set of four antique chairs and combined two of my antique-inspired chairs to make the set.

Next, we selected some awesome Mayan textiles for the top of the chairs, and I matched some contrasting velvets for the seats.

There are so many great choices, but we narrowed them down and ended up with some fabulous colors.

The shapes of the chairs were close enough, so I knew that if we gave them both the same finish, they would look like a set.  We went with a black finish, which is something I had been wanting to try on my new line of chairs.

And here’s my new antique-inspired chairs in black with their amazing textiles. You can see more of this style of chair on my website by clicking here

The textiles have toucans, small birds, and peacocks as well as a spray of flowers. The colors are so rich ranging from fuchsia, green, teal, orange, turquoise, and yellow.

You can see the variety and consistency of the fabric placement even on the backside.

How about some tea? Wouldn’t this be the most divine gathering for friends?

It’s so hard for me to pick my favorite chair from a set, but I can’t get enough of the green textile with the orchid seat.  Which one do you like the most? I would love to hear about it in the comments section!
