Settee Love

What is it about settees that get our hearts fluttering?  The curves, the romance, the fantastic fabrics?  All of the above?  Probably.  I can’t seem to get enough of these beautiful things.
My first one came about through a Craigslist purchase.  I spent time stripping it down, tying springs, and reupholstering it.  It sits in my black painted kitchen as a pretty dramatic statement piece.  (Did I mention I like pink, too?)
il_570xN.412983796_evzbA little over three years ago, I clipped an image from House and Home Magazine.  I have plans someday to replicate it with the gold paint and pink flowers.  However, settees don’t have to be super feminine.  This Union Jack flag settee sold last spring at Marburger Farm annual show.  Another dealer (yes, he was male) just couldn’t resist the flag.  I loved this one too, but couldn’t find a suitable place in my house.
Decor14I love the Candice Olsen fabric on this settee.  So crisp and clean…don’t eat spaghetti on this one!
After15Perhaps my favorite is this little settee.  It went to Vegas a few months ago.

Just last week I picked up a settee in desperate need of a makeover!  Watch out world, this one is going to be awesome.  I’m trying to decide…do I go with a white sofa or go Dorothy Draper black floral?  What do you think?
